Oh Happy Day

Check out some photos of our big day here!

Enjoy the work of our fabulous photographer, Stacy Richardson =)

~Heather CLARK!

I’m now fairly certain that starting a blog when you get engaged is not a feasible idea. It may be the worst idea in the recent history of me. I have never been so busy in my life. I’m having fun and a lot of people are being super helpful, but we are so very busy. I shoulda seen this coming, I know.

The staff at the church threw us a shower. It was loads of fun, with delicious food.

It was also really fun and different to have Daniel there with me at the shower, opening gifts together and all. One gift in particular was especially memorable: a cake tin, cake mix, spatula and icing… then Daniel caught a glimpse of pink lace in the bottom of the bag, while I was being distracted by cake. Sylvia saw that Daniel saw and blurted out, “That’s not all! There’s more in there!” You can guess where I’m headed with this story, I’m sure. I was the quintessential blushing bride. And Daniel was pretty red, himself.

Well, they prodded and teased, but with mixed company, and some guests I’d only just met, I absolutely could not bring myself to pull it out of the tissue paper.

Little did I know that in my attempts to be smooth, I dropped one very tiny article. Daniel’s boss’s wife said in her sweet southern accent, “Heather, I think you dropped part of it by your left foot.” So I scooped it up, held it in the air for a second, and tossed it into our growing pile of gifts. What a memory.

All in all, it was a fabulous evening to share with my bridegroom. I adore him. Can you tell? =P

What, pray tell, is up with the term “groom”? It is just not a positive-sounding word. Bleh.

Anyway, I should be sleeping right now. So, bye!

engaged!

Junior

He is so cute. You’ll see. I’ll post pictures.

He’s a 2005 two-door hatchback Hyundai Accent that we got a great deal on. Only 14,700 miles on him when we got him. Still very new at this whole car thing. Just a baby.

I love him. =)

ENFP

for those fluent in psychology-speak, you know what those four little letters mean. for everyone else, suffice it to say that daniel and i took a personality test as a part of our premarital counseling, and the results are in: we are the best people ever.

we actually did come out with the same personality type. this means we’ll have a much easier time understanding each other than those who are opposites. it also means, because of our type, we’ll do a lot of talking, not much planning, and we’ll need some practice putting in motion our lovely dreams and ideas about life and love and everything else. =)  i don’t know about you, but we find this stuff fun and fascinating.

do you know your MBTI type?

wedding plans…

in answer to what seems to be the most popular question these days: wedding plans are rolling along quite nicely =) i’ve got a dress, we’ve got the location, the photographer, the colors, the food, the dj (i love you, val!!) the basic layout and schedule of the big day… all the big stuff. still need to nail down flowers, linens, rentals, tuxes, songs… it’s still quite a list, but we’ve made some fun progress. we even have a friend who’s going to be the don’t-ask-the-bride-any-questions-on-her-big-day-person (yay, emily!), and we’re really looking forward to having some of our favoritest friends around us in our wedding party.

the location process was long and annoying. originally i wanted to have the ceremony in a more church-y-looking building than our home church, Bay Area Community Church. but through all the hassle of that big decision, as well as the whole setting-the-date and the ever-growing guest list… i have developed a mantra: i just want to marry daniel. the rest? meh, whatev. i feel a little foolish saying all this, as if we’ve been engaged for a super long time or something. but seriously, God really used all that frustration to loosen my grip on my wedding day. as long as i get to marry daniel, i’m satisfied. all those other details just pale in comparison.

plus, we have a FABULOUS photographer =)

Road Trip =)

Ok, really we’re just picking up my little sister Rachel. But, it’s more than an hour so it counts as a road trip.

p.s… I love Heather

Finally!

We’re pretty happy about things.

It’s been a long 4 days, but we’ve hit the six month mark at long last!

Just kidding. But we are getting married in 6 months. So we started a blog.
